Ok we are all aware that we should be limiting our sugar intake, but the problem is, most of us fail to actually do so! Your body starts to crave sugar when your insulin levels are low, so most people will reach for a candy bar. However, this will cause your blood sugar levels to spike, which will cause your insulin levels to increase to combat it. Your body will begin to store all of the sugar and then you are eventually left with a lower blood sugar level than before, which means you will be craving more sugar, and you are probably still going to be hungry.
However, there is one way to that you can cure your sweet tooth without spiking your blood sugar levels; eat fruit! Fruit is also packed full of fiber, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, and it tastes amazing! Don’t give into your sugar cravings in an unhealthy way! To make it more interesting, start trying new fruits or make a fruit salad. We also suggest keeping a piece of fruit or apple slices with you on a regular basis to keep yourself from reaching for a bag of candy.
