The majority of these unhealthy snacks like chips, candy, etc., provide little to no health benefits and they often contain large amounts of fat, calories, and sugar. We recommend planning ahead and packing your snack so that you can kick this unhealthy habit.
Here are some great snacks that we like to pack and have ready to go!
-Apples Slices & Unsweetened Organic Peanut Butter
This snack is packed full of fiber and protein to help keep you feeling satisfied and aid in healthy digestion!
-Carrot Sticks & Hummus
Carrots have beta carotine which is an antioxidant and is thought to be an immune booster!
-Make your own Trail Mix!
We usually put together raw nuts, unsweetened dark chocolate, and unsweetened, dried fruit!
-Carry a piece of fruit with you!
We usually have an apple, orange, or banana with us! Fruit is very nutritious and is a great alternative to candy when you have a sweet tooth!
-Air popped popcorn
Put some in a ziplock baggie and carry it with you to keep your hunger at bay throughout the day! You can also put it in your purse when you head to the movie theater, so that you aren’t tempted by the butter and salt covered alternative.
We also add unsweetened dark chocolate or a little dash of sea salt to give it a little more flavor!
-Unsweetened Chocolate covered strawberries!
These are super delicious, and this snack is packed full of antioxidants!
-String Cheese and wheat thins!
Cheese is great, and in moderation is fine to add into your diet! This snack will provide you with calcium and tons of fiber!
