Foods that “pretend” to be healthy!

There are many products on the market today that consumers believe to be healthy, however, the vast majority of these are tricking you!

Here are some perfect examples:

Reduced Fat Peanut Butter:

Reduced fat peanut butter may seem super healthy, but it actually isn’t very good for you. Most often, the peanut butter has actually been stripped of its good fats and sugars have been added. You would be better off sticking to organic peanut butter in our opinion!

Protein & health food bars

Many people think just because something contains large amounts of protein that it is okay to eat after a workout, but change this thought right now! Many times the “health” bars are actually filled with large amounts of sugar and bad fats!! We suggest making your own trail mixes with raw nuts and organic dark chocolate pieces. This way you are aware of what you are putting into your body, you are getting protein to help your body, and you are getting antioxidants from dark chocolate.

Diet Sodas and Juices

Most people on a diet will pick up a “diet” soda and think that they are on the right track, but they are very wrong. Most diet  and “0 calorie” drinks often contain aspartame which can actually hinder weight loss and cause numerous other health problems. We suggest drinking lemon water, unsweetened ice tea w/ stevia, or 100% pure fruit juices(not from concentrate, and in moderation!)

Flavored yogurts and oatmeals

The market is flooded with so called healthy yogurts and oatmeals, but the flavoring added to the majority of these is actually doing more bad than good to your body. Some of them contain 29 g of sugar or more!!! You best best would be to get plain oatmeal and yogurt and add in fresh fruit or stevia for flavor!

Keeping your body healthier

The best way to keep your body healthier and your weight under control is to watch what you eat. Look for foods that have been processed as little as possible, such as raw nuts and beans. For the majority, these foods are free of chemicals and other added deterrents to your health. We would also suggest trying to consume atleast 50% of your diet through raw fruits and veggies. It is so important to take care of your body now, to avoid major problems later!

There are so many more products that may be fooling you, so it is very important to read food labels!! If you aren’t sure how, we have a complete section in our new eBook, “Sexy, Lean, & Toned”.  Check it out—>
