#New Recipe! Stuffed Bell Peppers

What you will need:

1 lb lean ground beef (you can substitute lean ground turkey breast if you prefer, or do 1/2 and 1/2)

1/2 onion, chopped

1-3 jalapeno peppers, chopped (add to your preferred heat level)

2 cloves garlic, minced

15 oz can of no/low sodium tomato sauce

Your favorite no/low sodium taco seasoning, use half of what it says to use for 1 lb of lean ground beef

2 cups cooked brown rice (you can also use quinoa)

4-6 Bell peppers, cut off tops & seed (this recipe will comfortably stuff 4 peppers with some extra filling left over)

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350.

2. Saute ground beef  over medium heat with onions, garlic and jalapeno peppers until meat is completely cooked.

3. Pour beef mixture into a bowl and add tomato sauce, brown rice, and seasoning. Mix thoroughly.

4. Stuff each pepper to the top with the mixture.

5. Place stuffed peppers in a glass baking dish and bake in oven for 1 hour.

6. Remove from oven and serve with your favorite sides. We love using plain Greek yogurt in place of sour cream and serving with a nice green salad and fresh chopped veggies. Enjoy!

Tabata Intervals

Tabata workouts are becoming increasingly popular in the fitness world and we think that is a great thing! Are you short on time but still need to get in an intense workout? Try our Tabata interval workout above!

The idea of Tabata is to work at your maximum for 20 seconds followed by a 10 second rest and then right back into the next exercise. What this does is almost identical to HIIT training, it gets your heart rate up and then allows it to come back down which gives you maximum calorie and fat burning potential. We love incorporating Tabata intervals into our workout routines, especially on days when we don’t feel like doing 30-60 minutes of straight cardio training. Incorporating different exercises throughout the week keeps your body guessing so you will be less likely to plateau on your way to achieving your goals.

Have you tried Tabata before? What do you think about it?

Cure yourself naturally

One of the things that we are really big on right now is keeping toxic chemicals out of our bodies. We understand that their are some medications that are essential to your life, but for the less complicated stuff, there are natural cures.

Here are some great herbs and what they help cure:

- Alfalfa: Detoxifies your liver

-Agar: Natural Laxative

-Aloe: Things such as aloe vera are great for sunburns!

-Tea Tree Oil: This can be used for blemishes on your body. It helps remove bacteria and reduce inflammation.

-Lavender Oil: By smelling this great scent, you can help relieve yourself of a headache.

-Ginger Root: This is great at preventing migraines. We love to add it to our juices!

-Mint: Mint is very good at relieving nausea. We love to drink peppermint tea!

-Garlic: Has been show to help lower blood pressure when consumed regularly.

-Clove Oil: Helps relieve a toothache.

There are so many other herbs out there that help you cure so many other things! It is important to keep as many chemicals out of your body as possible! We encourage you to try these and many more!

We are not doctors, so we recommend speaking with your physician before following any health and fitness regimen.

New Recipe!

Grilled Pineapples with Strawberry sauce

If you have a sweet tooth then this recipe is for you! It’s simple and delicious!

We are always looking for healthier desserts for everyone to make while cooking on the grill, and this is one of our favorites!

What you will need:

1/2 pineapple sliced into 1 inch thick pieces

6 strawberries, washed

1 tsp. stevia

Instructions:

-Pull the leaves off of the top of the strawberries  and place in food processor. Add Stevia. Chop up until they are your desired consistency for a strawberry sauce. (we like ours a little chunky!)

-Place pineapples on grill and cook until they are light golden brown on both sides and soft, about 10 minutes; flip half way through.

-When pineapples are cooked, take off of the grill, top with strawberry sauce, and enjoy!

How to achieve your goals

Most people start off on the road to a healthy lifestyle with a great attitude, however, it quickly dissipates. Most people fail to keep their motivation because they are not well educated on how to actually reach their goals, how to maintain them, and the goals that they have set are often unrealistic. The importance of setting realistic goals and understanding how to achieve them in a healthy way can be the difference between your success and failing.

Here are some tips so that you can get started on the right track:

-If your goal is weight loss, don’t expect to lose more than 1-2 lbs. a week. It is unhealthy to aim for more than this, and aiming higher can cause you to fail to reach your goal.

-Think of it as a lifestyle change, not a diet. You need to make healthier eating choices on a regular basis. It shouldn’t be about finding a “quick fix”, rather, your goal should be about getting your body healthy.

-Stay consistent. Don’t allow yourself to go on an eating binge every other day and only eat healthy in between.

-Remove frozen, so-called “health foods” from your diet. These are often loaded with sodium which can hinder weight loss!

-Exercise on a regular basis! Exercising is the best way to burn off calories, tone up, and lean out your body.

-Drink plenty of water! Keeping your body properly hydrated is the best way to keep your metabolism running high.

-Give yourself time. You will not see results overnight, or even after a few weeks. The key is to understand that it takes time, and to stay persistent.

-There is no quick fix! We know that many stores around the country will try to sell you the new miracle pill, but the truth is that these results will only be temporary unless you make a drastic change in your lifestyle. You have to make a healthier lifestyle change.

We are doing our best to provide you with vast amounts of resources to help you achieve your goals. We want to make sure that you start off on the right track and get that body that you desire! We are currently working on a 2 week kickstart to healthy eating that will feature meal plans and recipes!  If you want to learn more about eating healthy, working out, reading foods labels, etc., then check out our eBook, Sexy, Lean, & Toned!
